Ubuntu Desktop (6.06 LTS - "Dapper Drake")
This is the first Long Term Support (LTS), this meant that the desktop version had 3 years of support, and server 5 years. As apposed to the usual 2 years for other releases. Another notable introduction was combining both the Live CD and Install CD onto one disk, this allowed for the user to download just one disk, and from that they could try ubuntu without affecting their current operating system, but also install it without requiring a second download.
